So, I finally have my Mets Blog up and running. Hopefully soon I'll have a regular blog up as well. I'm thinking it probably won't take as long since I won't design it right away. I'll just use a basic template until I can et my butt in gear. :)
Just overheard...
He: So what's new in sports?
She: Well, we're still waiting for Congress to decide the fate of Joe Torre.
I am so tired of the biggest story in New York sports this week is that there is no story. Nada. Nothing.
How many times can I read a story about a reporter waiting for a story??? Well, three times and counting... I read it because I apparently have some chemical imbalance that causes a need to know where the The Boss ordered lunch on Monday and how many times his son stepped outside for a cigarette break. I also get all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that the head security guard at Legends Field is an asshole.
I realize that neither of the NY teams are in the playoffs but c'mon... stalking the Steinbrenner clan is a better story than anything playoff related? Well there is all that commotion about Manny Ramirez's attitude. Ho. Hum. Is it March yet?
And for everyone else I do plan to get "The Will To Rock" back up and blogging about music and other bits of nonsense.
P.S. if you'd like to comment but don't have a vox account you can do so here. If you don't have a flickr account you're shit out of luck. (or you can just send a message.)
Video: Share a video that makes you laugh every time you watch it.
Side note: To reiterate metsblog.com this tipping your hat to the Pirates business is unacceptable. Instead Willie should ask Kevin Burkhardt if he can borrow his paper bag before he talked to the press after the game. (I wish I had a photo to share.)
This is what my train station looked like on Wednesday morning. After numerous efforts to try to get to work I finally gave up and told my boss I couldn't get into the office. She asked where I live. I told her Queens because Bayside would mean nothing to her. She then started to rattle off people's names who were in the office and live in Queens. People who live in Astoria and L.I.C. I tried to explain that I live much further away. She then tried to think of alternatives for me but unless she sent superman this way there was no way I was getting to the office. There's something about people who live in Manhattan who just don't understand the trials of a commute into the city. So, I worked from home. At that point I was more concerned about how I was going to get to Shea later that day. Really, I should have been more concerned how Dell (with my ticket) was going to get to Shea.
P.S. These photos aren't mine. When I was standing at the station it was still pouring rain. I was not about to whip out my camera then. I found these on flickr here and here.
Well, here's something COMPLETELY different... watch Rescue Me on FX tomorrow night while I'm in the sweltering heat and (possibly) the rain at Shea Stadium with my Stitch n' Pitch partner-in-crime watching the Mets beat up the Braves. *knocks on wood*
Overheard just moments ago in the office...
co-worker 1: i saw this guy Glavine on the Mets in the paper for a lot of wins.
co-worker 2: yeah 300 wins.
co-worker 1: that must be a lot of wins for a pitcher
co-worker 2: yeah
co-worker 1: now that I think about it that's a lot of fuckin' wins.
Note: These two are Yankee fans who are always willing to take a shot at the Mets for whatever reason. Yet, they obviously aren't even baseball fans.
It looks awesome! Too bad it's the WRONG team! read more
on Blogging, what?
